Helmets and who can ride

Every rental starts with the same short check at the desk in Kyiv. A helmet comes with the ride, and each vehicle class has one clear eligibility rule.

Your helmet, fitted before you ride

  • Helmets must be worn by all riders under 18
  • Strongly recommended for every rider, at every speed
  • Shell sizes from 52 cm to 62 cm, wiped down between rentals

Safety and city rules

Breakdown, accident and support

Two short procedures cover almost every situation on the road. Read them once before you ride, so you never have to search for them at the kerb. If you are still unsure which streets you may use, check the restricted zones list first.

If the scooter or e-bike stops

  1. Move off the roadway and onto the pavement or a safe verge. Switch the vehicle off and put the kickstand down.
  2. Call the support line and read the vehicle number printed under the handlebar. Stay with the vehicle.
  3. Send a photo of the parked vehicle through the same number if asked. We will collect it within 60 minutes inside the ring road.
  4. End the ride when the operator confirms it. You are not charged for time while the vehicle is waiting for collection.

If there is a collision

  1. Check yourself and anyone else involved first. Call 103 for an ambulance and 102 for the police if anyone is hurt.
  2. Do not move the vehicle unless it blocks traffic or a tram line. Keep your helmet on until the police arrive.
  3. Photograph the scene, the vehicle number and any other vehicle plates before anything is moved.
  4. Call our support line within 24 hours. We file the report with the insurer and send you the case number the same day.

Before you ride

Terms you accept at handover

Plain statements, no small print puzzles. They apply to every e-scooter, e-bike and moped rented from a Mandry Rides desk.

Age and identification
Riders must be 18 or over. Bring a passport or national ID. We check it at handover and keep the copy for the rental period plus 30 days.
Licence requirement
E-scooters and e-bikes need no licence. The moped class does: a valid category A1, A or B permit must be shown before the keys are handed over.
Helmet use
A helmet is included and fitted at the desk at no extra charge. Helmets must be worn by all riders under 18 and are strongly recommended for everyone.
Restricted zones
Riding is not allowed on tram tracks, in parks, inside metro entrances or beyond the city boundary. The zones are listed on the map legend and per-city list. Riding outside an allowed zone ends the rental and the deposit is withheld.
Fees and deposit
The rate, the refundable deposit, the optional waiver and the late-return rule are always shown together at checkout; see pricing and deposit. Returns later than 15 minutes past the booked time are billed at the hourly rate, rounded up. Deposits are released within 3 business days.
Damage and waiver
The waiver caps your liability at a fixed excess of 1 500 UAH per incident. Without it you remain liable for the full repair cost. Consumables such as a punctured tyre are covered by the waiver.
Limited insurance cover
Third-party cover is included and is limited. It does not pay for injury to the rider, for riding under the influence, or for damage caused inside a restricted zone. Personal travel insurance is recommended.

Breakdowns and incidents are handled through the app. See incident and support.

Briefing before every ride

Ride with a briefing, not a guess

Every rental starts at the desk with a short briefing: helmet fitting, the restricted zones on your route, and what to do if a scooter or e-bike breaks down. It takes about ten minutes and it is included in the rate.
